Leverage is the Key to Growth

One principle I constantly emphasize is: all growth comes from leverage.

But what exactly is leverage?

A lot of people think of leverage in terms of financial growth, and that is a part of it – acquiring and growing one’s capital assets.

For instance, If you want to start and build a business and you try to save up the money to purchase it – it’s going to take you a long time.

You may even be in your 60’s by the time you accumulate enough to buy it!

That’s not going to work – you can’t do it by yourself.

You need to get financing from banks or other people in order to leverage and make that investment.

The same thing goes for acquiring other investments such as real estate and rental properties.

Of course, leverage does come with some red flags.

Using the wrong kind of leverage, using the wrong kind of financing, over-leveraging, not understanding what assets you’re investing in, market cycles, etc…

You can get in trouble with leverage.

That’s why you’ve got to know how to use the leverage.

Leverage can also be bad if you use it for lifestyle – if you use it to build up your consumption, and live it up because you have access to credit.

But what are good ways to leverage?

One is to leverage other people’s time, talents and experiencebuilding a team and empowering those people to be assets to your company, rather than just helpers or even liabilities.

I’m talking about real assets.

Most of us learned through higher education to become great technicians at our skill set – but we are usually really, really bad at leveraging other people and building that kind of culture.

Building a culture where people are a strength and not a liability.

We may not have been taught how to do that in school, but it is mission critical to figure it out.

Learning to leverage in that area, and learning to leverage financially (at the right time and in the right way) to acquire the right assets – those are the keys in life.

You have to learn how to use leverage.

Trust me – it’s the way to build your future financial wealth, your goals, and your freedom.

To your freedom!
