It’s important use discernment when it comes to who you work with to gain advice.
There are a lot of coaches, practice management consultants, and mentors out there today, which is great!
Every one of us needs to have outside eyes looking at what we are doing.
We cannot do it ourselves, because we often can’t see the forest from the trees.
I’m a big believer in bringing on people to help in specific areas of expertise. People who can look at my operations and pigeonhole where there are gaps or holes, and help move the needle forward.
But, it’s vital that we all look at what our coach or mentor is doing to up their game.
If your coach or mentor is not also growing, maintaining relevance in the space, and gaining expertise, then that’s a problem.
Keeping up with changes in the market, changes in technology, and changes in the environment is critical.
Personally, I am a part of 5 different mastermind groups, and that is because I need to keep my game at a high level.
I need to keep that stimulation, and keep my pulse on what’s happening in the marketplace, in real estate, and in business.
I need to then bring that relevance back to my members, the people who depend on me.
If your coach or consultant is not doing that, then it might be time to reconsider who you’re learning from.
